Preston Jovi was a joyful toddler who brought endless love to his family. When he became sick, his mother did everything a parent is supposed to do. Over four consecutive days she took him to doctors and the emergency room again and again as his breathing worsened.

Each time, Preston was diagnosed with croup and sent home.

But something was terribly wrong.

Hours after being discharged from the hospital, Preston passed away. An autopsy later revealed the true cause of death was acute bacterial tracheitis — a severe bacterial infection of the airway that had been repeatedly dismissed as croup and never properly investigated.

In the devastating days that followed, Preston’s family faced not only unimaginable grief, but a painful reality: there were almost no resources in Nevada for families who had lost a young child.

No coordinated support.
No community resources.
No guidance through the darkest moment a parent can face.

Families were largely left to navigate their grief alone.

The Preston Jovi Foundation was created so that no parent would ever have to experience that isolation again.

Today, the foundation helps grieving families by providing:
